If you missed out on the glitz, glamour, and party of the 2019 Golden Goggles Awards, the full video replay of the event is now available for watching.
The annual event serves as both a fundraiser for the USA Swimming Foundation, which among other activities provides free and reduced-price swim lessons to kids around the country, as well as the annual celebration of the highest level of swimming in the United States.
The event was hosted by Matthew Broussard, a standup comedian, former swimmer, and the boyfriend of former US National Team swimmer Laura Sogar. The night also featured appearances by several other celebrities, including chart-topping singer Lukas Graham (7 Years) and ESPN Sportscenter anchor Linda Cohn
2019 USA Swimming Golden Goggle Award Winners:
- Female Athlete of the Year: Simone Manuel
- Male Athlete of the Year: Caeleb Dressel
- Female Race of the Year: Regan Smith, Women’s 200m backstroke semifinal
- Male Race of the Year: Caeleb Dressel, Men’s 100m butterfly semifinal
- Relay Performance of the Year: Women’s 4x100m medley relay
- Breakout Performer of the Year: Regan Smith
- Perseverance Award: Nathan Adrian
- Coach of the Year: Mike Parratto
