USA Swimming Releases 2012-2013 National Team

Here's a peak at the 2012-2013 USA Swimming National Team, which features the top 6 swimmers in each event from the combined results of the U.S. Olympic Trials, the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, and the 2012 U.S. Open in Indianapolis.

Note that some of these swimmers may be retiring, but retirements don't factor into National Team selection, though it does factor into Athlete Partnership Agreement eligibility: athletes must be actively training to receive the higher stipend from USA Swimming.

Members of this team receive a number of services; USA Swimming hasn't released the full services available to the 2012-2013 team, but last year it included airfare reimbursement for altitude training, career assistance programs, a monthly stipend (both in the APA and out of the APA), the opportunity to qualify for elite athletes health insurance, a massage therapist at all big national meets, reimbursement for travel to Grand Prix meets.
