CUBU swimmer Cassidy Bayer has her 5th National Age Group Record swim in the last two months, as she's lowered her own 11-12 long course 100 fly mark at the Super Sectional in Buffalo, New York this week.
Bayer swam a 1:01.75 to become the first swimmer in the age group to ever dip below 1:02. That broke her own mark of 1:02.31, though before that the record was held by current World Record holder and Olympic champion Dana Vollmer.
Her splits in this swim were 29.07-32.68; as compared to her old record splits of 29.34-32.97, it shows that she's simply improving and becoming overall more confident with her swims as she tapers.
Bayer trains in the Virginia arm of CUBU, specifically at the Alexandria site under Paul Makin. Bayer doesn't age up until September 9th, so she may not be done even yet.
